Outreach at Children's Care means life can be easier for families of children with special needs. Our Outreach Program sends specially trained pediatric therapists, educators, and psychologists directly into the homes, schools, and daycares of children who need their help.

Nearly 90% of the approximately 2,600 children we serve each year are outreach patients. Many of them are very young children receiving early intervention to help them catch up with peers on developmental milestones such as walking, talking, or feeding themselves.

A child may transfer into outpatient or inpatient care as determined by parents, the child's school, and/or medical providers.

Direct Therapy
Children's Care's staff of pediatric-trained therapists are highly experienced and cross-trained in school and medical-based therapies. Our staff of over 35 physical, occupational, and speech therapists, many with sub-specialties, assure a child's specific needs are met.

Special Education Services
Education specialists provide help for children with nearly any kind of learning challenge, including those with autism and Asperger's Syndrome.

Who is eligible?
Any child from birth to age 21 may receive services through Outreach. Children may be referred by a parent or guardian, school district, social service agency, or other service provider. Some services are also available for individuals older than age 21, and are considered on an individual basis.

Who pays for services?
Costs may be covered by Medicaid, public schools, insurance, grants, and private payment. To keep costs for services as low as possible, programs are subsidized by the Children's Care Foundation.
