So Many, Many Reasons to Love MallWalk

Thank you!

Wow - another record year for the 16th Annual Children’s Care MallWalk which raised a record $75,000 to help the kids we serve.  We had 1000 walkers show up for the 2nd year in a row and the turnout at the Empire Mall was nothing short of amazing!

The video shows the great crowd we had this year, including a few surprises, like the Star Wars wearing group from the 501st LegionPhil Baker performed for the kids and jackie Haggar-Tuschen from the Avera McKennan Fitness Center got the crowd warmed up just prior to the Walk.  We had the cheerleaders from the SkyForce and Storm, clowns, mascots and food for all.

The top fundraiser this year was Jeff Horstmeyer who raised $3,440.  If he sounds familiar, his wife was the top fundraiser last year.  Talk about a competitive family!  Second place went to Karley Hento of Yankton with $2,970 and third place went to Gail Fellbaum of Webster with $2,899.

The Smiley Goats were the top team raising $8,323 followed by Brandon’s Buddies of George, IA, who raised $3,815.  Other groups with honors include the teams with the most walkers:  Dustin’s Rollers had 75 and our very own Rehabilitation Center had 46 register to walk.

Thanks again to our many sponsors including First Premier Bank/Premier Bankcard for being our corporate partner this year.

See You Next Year!

"To reach out is a risk. When I reached out to Children's Care, I felt appreciated. That feeling is still with me. It's great to be here. Thank you for all you have done and all you have given to me."
