Recipes needed by February 25th for new Children’s Care cookbook!

Children’s Care is publishing a new cookbook, featuring favorite recipes from our staff, families, and friends, and we need two or three of YOUR favorite recipes!

The cookbook is a project of the Children’s Care Employee Campaign, which raises funds from among staff members to provide equipment or improvements not funded by other sources. Examples of past projects include popcorn makers, TVs, and DVD players for movie night with residential children; a water & ice dispenser for families and staff at our outpatient centers; bikes for kids; an aquarium for the residential area; still and video cameras to record special moments in the lives of the children; a picnic table for families and staff (Rapid City); and improvements to the Home Economics kitchen at the Sioux Falls location. Cookbooks will be sold for $12 each and are expected to be available in early May. Watch for details to purchase yours!

Categories are Appetizers & Beverages, Soups & Salads, Vegetables & Side Dishes, Main Dishes, Breads & Rolls, Desserts, Cookies & Candy, and This & That. Each cookbook will include cooking hints, recipe category dividers, a table of contents, and an index.

Email recipes to nyla.maag@cchs.org or mail to “Cookbook,” Children’s Care Hospital & School, 2501 W. 26th St., Sioux Falls, SD 57105. Include contact information in case we have any questions. We need your recipes no later than February 25th!

This is a great idea for families to have healthier recipes from other families. We are so creative once we start focusing on how to cook and eat healthier. I look forward to the cook book.
