On May 28th, 2010, the last day of the regular school year, Children’s Care will host a Parent Day open house and training opportunity for parents and guardians of residential and day students. The event will begin at 1:00 p.m. with a presentation from Robin Mills, OTR/L, BCP, Children’s Care Occupational Therapist. Robin’s presentation is titled “Sensory Diet Suggestions for the Home and Community.” This will be followed by a parent mixer/social networking opportunity from 2:15-3:00 p.m., hosted by case managers and operations directors. At 3 o’clock, Katie Docken, Program Director of the Liberty Center, will talk about daycare, respite care, out-of-school care, and the summer program at the Liberty Center. Parents will also have the opportunity to provide input on future parent and family events for the future. The afternoon will wrap up by 3:30, just in time for parents to greet children after school! The event is hosted by Children’s Care University, which offers educational opportunities on issues impacting individuals with special needs. Contact Christina at (605) 782-2365 or email her for details on this event.
