Autism and Special Needs in Newsweek

Dr. Kristina Chew, a mother to Charlie, who has autism, is a blogger.  She blogs a lot.  Dr. Chew’s blog, AutismVox, gives a detailed account of her experiences having a child with autism.  You get to follow Charlie’s progress and also follow her online research which presents a fair assessment of what’s going through the internet.

Released today on the web version only, Dr. Chew is interviewed by Newsweek where she gives an account of the political spotlight on autism and her opinions.  Dr. Chew is Assistant Professor of Classics in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages at Saint Peter’s College.

What do you think about the spotlight special needs has received during this presidential campaign?  Has it swayed your vote at all?

"Children's Care Hospital & School was the lifeline our family needed when we realized nothing else was working successfully for our daughter, who has Angelman Syndrome. The consistent daily structure has been essential to helping her get control of her behaviors and therefore be pleased with herself. The staff is all about our daughter and helping her to be the best she can be."
