DAVE TIMPE NAMED INTERIM CEO OF CHILDREN'S CAREPOSTED: MAY 11, 2012
Timpe, a Sioux Falls-area resident for 35 years, has been a member of Children's Care Hospital & School Board of Directors since 2008. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), he retired May 1, 2007 from Eide Bailly, LLP, after a 37-year career in public accounting, serving exclusively healthcare facilities. He has acted as interim CEO of several other organizations since his retirement, including Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton; Sioux Center Community Hospital in Sioux Center, IA; and Brookings Health System in Brookings.
He will serve full-time at Children's Care until a new CEO is hired.
He currently serves on the board of First Bank and Trust NA, on the board and finance committee of Avera Health Plans, and on the Lloyd Companies Advisory Board. Dave is an active member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA)-South Dakota Chapter. He has served on the national board and executive committee of the 33,000 member HFMA organization, and was awarded the Morgan Award, HFMA's highest recognition for individual achievement. A native of Dubuque, Iowa, Dave and his wife Bunny now live on Wall Lake near Hartford, SD, and have three grown children.
The board anticipates beginning a search for a new leader soon, and is committed to finding the best person possible to lead Children's Care into a strong and bright future.
